Mini Mill - Armagh

The challenge was to maximise the silo capacity on a small footprint. We designed and manufactured; a 4.3m diameter, 60 ton barley silo; a 3m diameter, 40 ton maize silo and a 3m diameter, 32 ton soya silo.
We supplied and fitted these with an access ladder and platform. We also supplied and fitted 6 inch augurs from the silos to the weigh hopper (connecting them to the silo with individually designed and manufactured augur boxes to suit the lifting angles.)
Mini Mill - Ballyconnell

This project consisted of: 1 x inlet hopper; 2 x 225 ton silos; 3 x 110 ton silos; 6 x 30 ton blending silos; 5 x 30 ton out-loading silos & steelwork; 6 bagging stations; 3 ton gantry crane; also all internal platforms, handrails, access ladders and staircases. All off the above were designed and manufactured in-house by Mc Aree Engineering Ltd.
Waste Water Treatment Hydrated Lime Silos
Co. Limerick
We were asked to design and manufacture twin 160m3 capacity hydrated lime silos for a waste water treatment plant in Co. Limerick. Our design was for 6.4m diameter silos to minimise the height of the silo with a 60 degree cone.
The silos were constructed on site and were fitted with safety rails and access ladder with rest platform to meet all health and safety standards. A full silo safety system comprising of reverse drive filtration, pressure relief valves were supplied and fitted. Outlet silo activators were fitted to the cone to prevent material bridging in the silos.
The design and construction was fully certified including civil engineering drawings and structural analysis for wind loads etc.
Detailed user manuals were also provided.
Dry Sludge Silo

Our client challenged us to design a 4.2m diameter sludge silo. We manufactured the silo at our plant in Monaghan and delivered it complete with access ladder, rest platform and handrail to conform with BS Health & Safety requirements. The silo had a 45 degree cone and came complete with explosion panels, CO2 injectors, temperature probes and rotary level indicators.
Our experienced site competed the final fit out and commissioning.
The silo was fully certified and a detailed user handbook was provided.
Wood Pellet Store Bio Mass Plant
Edenderry, Co Offaly, Ireland
We were requested to provide a 100m3 capacity silo to cater for a range of free flowing biomass materials. We designed a 6m diameter silo with a 55 degree cone. Fabricated at our manufacturing plant in Monaghan, the silo was assembled on site. Constructed from BS standard galvanised steel with stainless steel nuts and bolts, the silo was built complete with outlet hopper, access ladder with rest platform; heavy duty lid with handrail. A safety system comprising of explosion panels, silo level probes and moisture sensors was also fitted.
Our highly trained and experienced site team completed the silo with health and safety in mind – the silo was designed to be assembled on the ground with minimal requirement for working at height.
Liffey Mills
Bunnow, Roscrea, Co.Tipperary
Liffey Mills required additional storage requirements as part of their expansion. We supplied 5, 68.5cubic metre silos complete with heavy duty, galvanised, chequer plate roofs with accompanying conveyor supports. We also provided each silo with conveyor hatches and inspection hatches on the rook as well as adjustable outlets on the cone.
